I can feel thin air splitting my wet hair. Dawn has never felt purer. The grim crimson skies are melting into bright and gay orange-yellow setting free the first rays of dawn.
I am listening to one of the compositions of my peers. The medley swings from Hindistani to Carnatic to Jazz. I can hear waters flowing in the background. The notes have trancsended me from where I am to where I never knew I could go.
As the waters build from gentle droplets to thickets of rain, the music gets wilder. The flowing voice sinks and soars to unimaginable bounds onto infinite degrees of freedom and madness. Effervescent with passion and composure, voices and instruments send pulses of joy through the senses and the soul.
Is it classic or classical? Who can deny that art is as much a realisation for the audience as much as it is for the artist....

Yeah, “classic-al” is basis for all modern music/art. It is the bond, which connects the artist to the audience and the surrounding environment acts as a catalyst. No one can deny this fact.
hmm...dawn and you have wet hair? :D as usual, i focus on what isnt important - but were you swimming or something? :D nicely written piece abt how music affects you, though I can never claim to have been so moved by anything but a book.
and regarding classical music, well, classical for one is folk or strange music for another - so i doubt one can classify anything as the entire basis for moder music.
@ Kiran,
Sorry buddy, if you talk to any musician, they will tell you that they use new intruments and create music based on the classic tunes/notes. You cannot forget it, but yeah you can modify it to use in new instruments. Whether it is strange or folk, either way classical will be the basis/foundation.
Every person who knows music will tell you that they learn the basic notes, which are classical and use them in such a way that lyrics sounds good. Just because you have better sound or mixing effects does not make it is entirely different from classical.
